What is your full name and do you have a nickname?
My name is Shelbie Carole Bruce, and I have several nicknames. Shell, Shellie, Shelbers, Shelbie Lou and Shelb! All of my family members and friends have a different nickname for me, and I love them all!

How old are you and when is your birthday?
I am 13 years old (turning 14 in two months!!!) and my birthday is November 12th, 1992.

How tall are you?
I am 5’ 4”, and I’m happy that I’m almost as tall as my mom!

Do you have any pets?
No I do notL. My brother and I are borderline asthmatics, but on the bright side we are growing out of it!

What grade are you in?
I am in 8th grade, got strait A’s last year, and when I get out of high school I hope to go to Harvard, Princeton or Stanford on a full scholarship!

What is your favorite subject in school?
I absolutely love math, and science!

I have not been to IMDB or any chat rooms, and I have never been on my space, although I have heard that there are some people who are pretending to be me on my space. Please do not give your information to them, for it is not actually me.

What is your favorite color?
My absolute favorite color is blue, but I like pink because I am definitely a girly girl, and I like purple, green, red, and orange!

Where are your favorite places to shop?
I want to be a fashion designer, so I am always looking for trendy stuff at affordable prices! My favorite places to shop are Hollister, Airopostil, Macys, Pac Sun, and yes Walmart! It sounds funny at first, but remember, it doesn’t have to be expensive to be cute!

What is your favorite food?
My favorite foods are Mac and cheese, which happen to be my favorite vegetable! (Ha ha, just kidding!) I also like chicken ceasar salads, pizza, spaghetti (with out the tomato sauce), and I love vanilla ice cream!

What is your favorite music?
I like listening to Christian singers like Jaci Velasquez and Plus One! I also like the Black Eyed Peas, Hillary Duff, Carrie Underwood, Katherine Mcphee, Barry Manilo, and Rod Stuart!

What are your favorite movies?
I absolutely love Pirates of the Caribbean 1 & 2.  I also like Deep Impact, Titanic, Finding Neverland, Sleepy Hollow, Edward Scissor Hands, Mr. Deeds, and The Family Man!  I know that is a lot of movies, but they are all great movies!

Who are your favorite actor and actress?
I don’t really have a favorite actor or actress. Each one of them is unique in there own way and they all have their acting strengths, that is what I like about them! But if I had to choose one, then I would choose Johnny Depp! He would be my choice for favorite actor (but then again, I think he would be everyone’s choice! Lol) because all the characters that he plays are so different in so many ways, and he does an amazing job in portraying each one! I can also say that when ever I watch a movie, I learn from it! Not only from the lesson of the movie, but from the actor and how he or she portrays the character!

What is your favorite TV Show?
I like to watch That’s So Raven, Hannah Montana, The Suite Life of Zack and Cody, Survivor, Deal or No Deal, and American Idol!

What hobbies or special interests do you have?
I love and collect toy horses, although I have never been on a real one before. But I plan to own one when I get older! I also like to swim, roller blade, and ride my bike!

How would you describe your personality?
I am very kind and loving! Sometimes I can be very naive when it comes to the world but I thrive to learn more every day! My values and morals as a Christian are very strong and my parents keep me very well grounded! I am relaxed and cheerful of the set; and on set I am still cheerful, but when its time to work I am very focused and professional! I love to be around other people! All of this put together with a little Mexican American spice, and you get Shelbie!

Do you have a boyfriend?
No, my dad says I’m not allowed to date until I am over 35. He is also from Texas, and I think we all know what Texans do when their daughters get boyfriends. They get their guns ready for any boys that come around! Ha ha ha, just kidding!!!

Where were you born and where do you live now?
I was born in Brownsville Texas, and then moved to San Antonio when I was about nine months old (my brother was born a year laterJ). After that we moved out to California when I was about 7!

Is being an actress what you want to do for your whole life or would you like to try something else?
I would love to be an actress my entire life! But, apart from that, I am going to begin a singing career and I am going to go to college and start a career in fashion design!!

Are you anything like your character "Christina" in "Spanglish"?
I think that I am a lot like Christina!  She is very naive to the world but very book smart, and in some ways so am I! We are both fluent in Spanish and English, and our Christian values and family values and morals are the same! I keep telling every one that when I got this role, it was meant to be! It was also very easy to translate for Mr. Clasky and Flor in the movie because that is what I do every time I go to my grandparents’ house! My dad (who knows no Spanish) and my grandparents on my moms’ side (who know no English) are the ones I translate for!

What is your ethnic background?
All together I am five different ethnicities! On my moms side I am part Spanish and half Mexican, and on my dads side I am part Scottish, part Indian and half American! Although I am other ethnicities, the main two are Mexican and American and that is how I would like to be remembered!J

What Religion are you?
I am a Christian and very proud of it!  I attend our Catholic Church every Sunday and I read a chapter of the Bible every night!  My favorite verse in the Bible is: God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son that whosoever believes in Him will not parish but have everlasting life. John 3:16!  I believe that there is no challenge that God gives us that we can’t handle, and if we pray and believe, then we can do anything!  One thing that I will take on my life journey that my mom always tells me is that if we have faith in God, then by His power we can move mountains!

My favorite thing in the whole world is my Family and Christ!
